Designer – JC Cousins

John “JC” Cousins IV got his nickname from working with his father John Cousins III in their 19-year career designing kitchens and fabricating granite countertops together. It would have been too confusing for clients calling and asking for John. They, understandably, didn’t want to be called by the “young one” or the “old one”, so JC it became.

JC was literally born into the business. In 1975 his father had a kitchen design showroom in Presque Isle, while his grandparents owned one of the first kitchen cabinet sales showrooms in Eastern Maine called Consolidated Supply, which was located where Waterfront Concerts is now in Bangor, Maine.

JC’s affection for creativity stems from his artistic abilities. He would love to one day have his own dedicated painting and drawing studio.

From his younger days of delivering and installing cabinetry through starting a successful granite countertop shop, JC has been in all facets of kitchen design and remodeling.

JC loves working with clients to solve functional issues in the customer’s current homes on remodeling projects. He says that there is something special about that ‘Ah-ha’ moment when the homeowner is excited to see the changes he suggests.

JC lives in Carmel, Maine with his wife, Meaghan. Together they have 4 children, one grandchild, and 2 dogs. Both JC and Meaghan are veterans. Meaghan is still serving in the Maine Army National Guard and is a Blackhawk helicopter instructor pilot. She has just returned home from her 3rd year-long deployment in Afghanistan.
